On Stage in Five Minutes
Director’s statement
“To make a film is a lifetime’s dream and a responsibility: to tell something important, not only for the audience that will watch it but also to oneself. ON STAGE IN FIVE MINUTES is my first movie and I’m proud of the emotions that remain, of the joy and the pain of life that is revealed throughout this strong relationship between Gianna and her mother. This film came into being thanks to them, to their sarcastic irony that laughs in the face of the angst of the accompaniment at the end of life. I’ve learned a lot from them. Among other things, as a director, I’ve learned that if a story wants to come to light, it will find its way in any case.”
At the 11th edition of the festival “Il cinema italiano visto da Milano”, the film won the Audience Award in the category “Revelations” and the award given by the Jury of the inmates of Bollate prison, a sign that this film can create consensus by a large and heterogeneous audience.
The song “Grovigli” by Malika Ayane, in the original soundtrack of ON STAGE IN FIVE MINUTES is nominated for Best Original Song at the Nastro d’argento.
The film will be released on June 27th 2013.
